About Rachel

rachel-85After spending six years as career counselor, I was inspired to start teaching yoga as I saw its ability to empower people to lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives. Through Power Yoga and Yoga Body Bootcamp, I challenge you to discover your own strength and power both on your mat and in your life. Although my classes are designed to be physically challenging, they are also designed to be fun and playful. You will laugh, sweat and open yourself up to all that you are capable of.

The style of yoga I teach is accessible to all, regardless of experience level, body type or age. I combine elements of Power Yoga, Baptiste Yoga and Vinyasa Flow to create dynamic classes that will improve your flexibility, balance, stamina and all-around strength. Please also see my page on yoga for athletes – there, you will see information on sport-specific yoga instruction.

In December of 2013, I opened Hometown Yoga alongside Ashley Dunwody.  We offer a variety of classes, including Hot Power Yoga, Kids Yoga and Beginners Yoga.  Please visit www.hometownyogamacon.com for more information.

After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, I earned my Master’s degree from Boston University. I received my 200 hour yoga teacher certification with Debbie Williamson at Midwest Power Yoga and am a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance.
